Dream

big! After teaching about professions and hearing that most of my 6th graders don't know what they want to be (or want to be contestants on Ukraine's Got Talent), I'm straying from their syllabus and having them make dream boards tomorrow. If you don't know what a dream board is, it's an idea from "the Secret" (Oprah talks about it too) where you tape or glue pictures and words cut from magazines or printed off the internet of what you want and who you want to be in life onto a poster board. Then, you hang it up somewhere you can see it everyday. By visualizing your dreams and your ideal self, it's always on your mind, reminding you where you need to go and who you need to be to achieve it. The idea is by understanding what you want, you can also map out how to get there and if you work hard enough, nothing is out of reach.
